The Preacher's Lectionary Notebook - A Litany for the Season of Epiphany on Psalm 27:1, 4-9
The Third Sunday after the Epiphany (Year A)
Leader: The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? People: The LORD is the stronghold of our life; of whom shall we be afraid? Leader: One thing we ask of the LORD, this is what we seek: People: To dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of our life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in God's temple. Leader: For in the day of trouble God will hide us in his shelter; God will conceal us under the cover of his tent. People: God will set us high upon a rock; our heads will be lifted above our enemies around us. Leader: With shouts of joy we will offer sacrifices; we will sing and make melody to the LORD. People: Hear, O LORD, when we cry aloud; be gracious to us and answer us. Leader: “Seek my face,” you say. People: Your face, O LORD, we seek. Leader: Do not hide your face from us. Do not turn your servants away in anger. People: You have been our help; do not cast us off, do not forsake us, O God of our salvation. All: We wait for you in confidence and hope, trusting in your light, resting in your presence, and longing for your face. Amen.
